Course Overview

The Workplace First Aid course is designed to equip employees, managers, and safety officers with the essential knowledge and skills needed to respond effectively in emergency situations at work. The course begins with Workplace First Aid 101, where you’ll be introduced to the basics of first aid, its importance, and how it applies in a workplace setting. First Things First covers the critical first steps to take when an emergency arises, including how to assess the situation, ensure safety, and make decisions under pressure.

One of the course’s key sections is Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). In this module, you’ll learn the life-saving techniques for performing CPR, which can be the difference between life and death in a cardiac emergency. Building on CPR, the Automated External Defibrillator (AED) module teaches you how to use an AED in conjunction with CPR, significantly improving a person’s chances of survival in cases of sudden cardiac arrest.

The course also addresses Small Injuries, where you’ll learn how to treat minor wounds, cuts, and bruises. This is followed by Minor Illnesses, which includes treatment for common health issues that may arise in the workplace, such as headaches, dizziness, or fainting. In the Choking module, you’ll be trained on how to recognise and respond to choking emergencies effectively, using the correct procedures to clear the airway and save lives.

For more serious incidents, Severe Conditions focuses on how to handle major emergencies like heart attacks, strokes, or severe bleeding. By learning how to act swiftly and effectively in such situations, you’ll be able to minimise harm and provide critical care until professional medical help arrives.

The course includes Bonus Materials to further enhance your knowledge and prepare you for any emergency scenario. The course concludes with a Final Quiz, testing your understanding of the material and your readiness to respond to emergencies.
