08. THE AI TUTOR — NATURE, SCOPE, AND LIMITATIONS
This section is specific to Learndrive AI and describes important facts about how our AI tutor works. Please read it carefully.
8.1 What the AI Tutor Is
The Learndrive AI tutor is an artificial intelligence system designed to support your learning within the context of your enrolled course. It is not a human tutor, teacher, counsellor, or advisor. The AI tutor:
- Answers questions and provides explanations based exclusively on course content written by expert instructional designers
- Offers interactive features such as “Explain More” and “Give Me Example” to aid comprehension
- Asks follow-up questions to better understand your learning needs before responding
- Operates within a defined knowledge base for each course to minimise the risk of inaccurate or misleading responses
8.2 Scope of AI Responses
The AI tutor is intentionally limited in scope. It will not answer questions that fall outside the subject matter of your enrolled course. This is by design to maintain the quality, accuracy, and integrity of learning outcomes. If you ask a question outside the course topic, the system will inform you of this limitation and redirect you.
The AI does not generate original course content. It learns from and responds based on the structured knowledge base created by our course authors. This approach is designed to reduce the risk of AI hallucination.
8.3 AI Limitations and No Reliance Disclaimer
While we take significant steps to ensure the accuracy of AI responses, you acknowledge and agree that:
- AI systems, by their nature, may occasionally produce responses that are incomplete, imprecise, or context-limited
- The AI tutor is a learning aid and should not be used as a substitute for professional advice in any regulated field, including (but not limited to) medical, legal, financial, or clinical practice
- Learndrive AI makes no warranty that AI tutor responses will always be accurate, complete, or suitable for professional application
- You are responsible for independently verifying any information obtained through the AI tutor before applying it in a professional or regulated context
8.4 Transparency: You Are Interacting with AI
In compliance with emerging AI transparency obligations — including the EU AI Act (Regulation (EU) 2024/1689) and UK Government AI principles — we confirm:
- The tutor you interact with is an AI system, not a human being
- We will never attempt to misrepresent the AI as a human when sincerely asked
- Our AI system is not classified as high-risk under the EU AI Act but operates as a limited-purpose, course-scoped learning assistant
8.5 Prohibited Use of the AI Tutor
You agree not to use the AI tutor to:
- Attempt to extract information outside its authorised knowledge base through manipulation, prompt injection, or jailbreaking
- Generate, reproduce, or distribute course content for commercial gain
- Submit automated or scripted queries to harvest content
- Attempt to reverse-engineer the underlying AI model or its training data
Any such misuse constitutes a material breach of these Terms and may result in immediate account termination.
09. COURSES, CONTENT, AND CERTIFICATES
9.1 Course Availability
Learndrive AI currently offers over 150 online courses across professional development categories. The number and range of courses is subject to change. We do not guarantee that any specific course will remain available throughout your subscription period, though we will endeavour to provide reasonable notice where courses are removed.
9.2 Course Completion and Certification
Upon completing all modules within a course, you will be eligible to order a certificate acknowledging your achievement. All certificates are accredited by CPDQE (Continuous Professional Development Quality Education), an independent body that sets standards for professional development qualifications.
Certificates are issued on demand following completion and are not awarded automatically. You must actively request your certificate through the platform.
9.3 Certificate Verification
Each certificate includes a unique verification code. Employers, institutions, or other parties may verify the authenticity of your certificate via the Learndrive AI certificate verification page by entering this code.
9.4 Accreditation Disclaimer
CPDQE accreditation confirms that courses meet continuous professional development standards. It does not constitute regulatory qualification, professional licensure, or statutory certification in any regulated profession. You are responsible for checking whether a qualification is recognised or sufficient for your particular professional context.
10. ACCEPTABLE USE
You agree to use Learndrive AI solely for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You must not:
- Use the platform in any way that violates applicable local, national, or international laws or regulations
- Share your login credentials or allow others to access the platform using your account
- Copy, reproduce, distribute, or commercially exploit any course content, AI tutor outputs, or platform materials without our prior written consent
- Upload, transmit, or distribute any harmful, offensive, defamatory, or infringing content
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the platform or its underlying infrastructure
- Use automated tools, bots, or scrapers to access or extract content from the platform
- Engage in any conduct that disrupts or damages the platform or the experience of other users
11. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
All content on Learndrive AI — including course materials, AI-generated explanations, text, graphics, logos, interface elements, and the AI tutor system itself — is the intellectual property of Edtech Learning Ltd or its content partners and is protected by copyright, database rights, and other applicable intellectual property laws.
You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access and use the platform and its content solely for your personal, non-commercial learning purposes during your active subscription.
This licence does not permit you to reproduce, redistribute, sell, or create derivative works from any platform content. Any use beyond personal learning requires our prior written permission.
12. USER DATA AND AI TRAINING
We value your trust and are transparent about how your data interacts with our AI systems.
- Your AI tutor chat interactions are used to operate and deliver the service in real time
- Aggregated and anonymised usage data may be used to improve the accuracy, relevance, and quality of our AI tutor responses and course content
- We do not use your personal conversations or identifiable data to train general-purpose, third-party AI models
- We do not sell your personal data to any third party
For full details of how we handle your data, please refer to our Privacy Policy at https://learndriveai.com/privacy-policy.
13. MOBILE ACCESS
Learndrive AI is fully mobile-optimised. You may access and use the platform on smartphones and tablets. You are solely responsible for any data charges, network fees, or costs associated with accessing the platform via a mobile or cellular connection. We make no guarantees regarding performance on specific device types or operating system versions.
14. TERMINATION AND SUSPENSION
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account, with or without notice, if we have reasonable grounds to believe that you have:
- Violated any provision of these Terms
- Provided false or misleading information during registration
- Engaged in fraudulent, abusive, or unlawful activity
- Attempted to misuse or circumvent the AI tutor or platform systems
If your account is terminated for breach, we are not obligated to issue a refund. If you believe your account has been suspended in error, please contact support@learndriveai.com.
You may also choose to close your account at any time by contacting our support team. Account closure does not automatically trigger a refund outside of the 14-day cancellation window.
15. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Learndrive AI, Edtech Learning Ltd, and their officers, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for:
- Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the platform or its AI features
- Any loss of data, profits, or business opportunities
- The accuracy, completeness, or suitability of AI tutor responses for any professional application
- Decisions made in reliance on information provided by the AI tutor
- Any interruption, suspension, or termination of the service
Where liability cannot be excluded by law, our total liability to you shall not exceed the total subscription fees paid by you in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death, personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.
16. WARRANTY DISCLAIMER
The Learndrive AI platform and all its content, including AI tutor outputs, are provided “as is” and “as available”. We make no express or implied warranties that:

- AI tutor responses will always be accurate, complete, or applicable to your specific professional circumstances
- Course content will remain up to date at all times
- The platform will be compatible with all devices or browsers
Your use of the platform is at your own discretion. We shall not be liable for any loss or damage arising from your reliance on AI tutor content beyond the scope of your enrolled course.

Given that Learndrive AI is an AI-powered service, the following regulatory disclosures apply:
17.1 EU AI Act (Regulation (EU) 2024/1689)
The Learndrive AI tutor is an AI system as defined under the EU AI Act. It is classified as a general-purpose AI system operating in a limited, course-scoped context. It is not classified as a high-risk AI system under Annex III of the Act.
In line with Article 50 transparency obligations, we confirm: (a) the AI tutor is an automated system; (b) it will not falsely claim to be human when directly asked; and (c) its outputs are based on a fixed, curated knowledge base and not on real-time internet searches or unverified generative content.
17.2 UK AI Governance
In line with the UK Government’s AI principles and the ICO’s guidance on AI and data protection, Learndrive AI is committed to transparency, accountability, and human oversight in the operation of our AI tutor. Users may at any time contact our support team to raise concerns about AI behaviour or request human review of a platform decision.
17.3 No Automated Decision-Making with Legal Effect
Learndrive AI does not use automated decision-making processes that produce legal or similarly significant effects on users. Course completion is determined by your own module progression, not by AI-generated assessments. Certificate eligibility is based on verified completion records.
17.4 AI Feedback and Reporting
If you encounter AI tutor responses that appear inaccurate, harmful, or inappropriate, please report them to support@learndriveai.com. We are committed to reviewing such reports and improving our system accordingly.
