01. WHAT ARE COOKIES?
Cookies are small text files that are placed on your device (computer, tablet, or smartphone) when you visit a website or use an online platform. They are widely used to make websites and applications work more efficiently, to remember your preferences, and to provide information to the operators of the site.
Cookies are not programs and cannot carry viruses or malware. They contain only simple data — typically a unique identifier, the name of the website, and an expiry date.
Similar technologies — such as pixel tags (web beacons), local storage objects, and session storage — work in comparable ways and are also covered by this policy. We refer to all of these collectively as “cookies” throughout this document.

04. TYPES OF COOKIES WE USE
The table below sets out the categories of cookies used on Learndrive AI, what they do, and how long they last.
| Cookie Type | Purpose | Examples | Duration |

05. THIRD-PARTY COOKIES
Some cookies on Learndrive AI are set by third-party services that we use to operate and improve the platform. These third parties have their own privacy and cookie policies, and we do not control the cookies they place.
5.1 Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand how users navigate the platform. Google Analytics collects anonymised information about user behaviour (such as pages visited, time on page, and device type) and reports it to us in aggregate form. It does not identify you personally.
You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout
5.2 Payment Processors
When you make a payment, our payment partners (such as Stripe and PayPal) may set cookies to enable secure transaction processing, fraud prevention, and payment authentication. These cookies are governed by the respective provider’s own policies.
5.3 Authentication Providers
If you choose to log in via a third-party authentication provider (such as Google), that provider may set cookies on your device as part of the login flow. Please refer to the relevant provider’s cookie and privacy policies for details.
06. COOKIES AND THE AI TUTOR
Learndrive AI uses a session-scoped cookie to maintain context within your AI tutor conversation during a single learning session. This allows the AI tutor to understand the flow of a conversation and respond to follow-up questions accurately within that session.
This cookie does not store personally identifiable information and is deleted at the end of your session. We do not use AI session cookies to build profiles, serve advertising, or share data with third parties.
No conversation data from your AI tutor session is retained in a cookie beyond the session. Conversation logs may be retained server-side in accordance with our Privacy Policy for the purposes of platform improvement using anonymised, aggregated data only.
07. YOUR COOKIE CHOICES
You have the right to accept or decline non-essential cookies. Strictly necessary cookies cannot be disabled as they are required for the platform to function.
7.1 Cookie Consent Banner
When you first visit Learndrive AI, you will be presented with a cookie consent notice. You may accept all cookies, reject non-essential cookies, or manage your preferences by category. You can update your preferences at any time via the “Cookie Settings” link in the platform footer.
7.2 Browser Controls
You can also control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to:
- View what cookies have been set
- Block cookies from specific websites
- Block third-party cookies
- Clear cookies when you close your browser
Please refer to your browser’s help section for instructions:
- Google Chrome: Settings > Privacy and Security > Cookies and other site data
- Mozilla Firefox: Options > Privacy & Security > Cookies and Site Data
- Apple Safari: Preferences > Privacy > Manage Website Data
- Microsoft Edge: Settings > Cookies and site permissions
7.3 Impact of Disabling Cookies
If you disable strictly necessary cookies, you will not be able to log in or access your courses. If you disable functional or progress cookies, some features — such as remembered preferences and progress tracking — may not work correctly. Disabling analytics cookies will not affect your ability to use the platform but will limit our ability to improve it based on usage data.
08. DO NOT TRACK
Some browsers include a “Do Not Track” (DNT) feature that signals to websites that you do not wish to be tracked. Learndrive AI does not currently respond to DNT signals, as there is no consistent industry or legal standard for how platforms should interpret them. We are committed to reviewing this position as standards develop.
In the meantime, you can use the cookie preference controls described in Section 7 to limit non-essential tracking on Learndrive AI.
09. DATA PROTECTION AND COOKIES
Where cookies involve the processing of personal data (for example, analytics cookies that collect IP addresses), we process that data in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable data protection law, including the UK GDPR and, where relevant, the EU GDPR.
The legal basis for strictly necessary cookies is our legitimate interest in operating a functional and secure platform. For all other cookies, we rely on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
For full details of how we handle personal data, please read our Privacy Policy at https://learndriveai.com/privacy-policy.
10. CHANGES TO THIS COOKIES POLICY
We may update this Cookies Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the cookies we use, changes in the law, or updates to the platform. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you via email or a platform notice.
We encourage you to review this page periodically to stay informed about how we use cookies.
